What UPF 50+ Actually Means for Your Daughter's Swimwear

Every Wavy swimsuit is rated UPF 50+. Here's what that actually gets you.

• UPF measures fabric, not time. It's how much UV radiation the fabric blocks, not a countdown for how long she can stay in the sun.
• UPF 50+ is the highest rating there is. It blocks over 97.5% of UVA and UVB rays.
• Kuwait's sun is stronger for longer. Pool and beach days here usually mean hours of direct exposure, not a quick dip.
• Fabric protection doesn't wear off like sunscreen does. Sunscreen needs reapplying every couple of hours, especially after swimming. A UPF 50+ swimsuit protects the whole time it's on.
